Summer is coming to an end, but at Cebollas Marchite our hands are still full of soil, because our onions are better than ever.
We’ve just finished harvesting, and we can say that this year’s onions are wonderful, full of flavour and quality.

The change of season: an opportunity, not a pause
As summer ends, some crops reach their peak: humidity, heat and direct sunlight begin to take their toll. But for the onion, a crop that has learned to live with the most varied climates, this is just one more change in the natural cycle. Experience has taught us that every season brings its challenges, but also its advantages: safer storage, more intense aromas, and the ideal time to prepare the soil for the next sowing.
Our responsibility remains the same
At Cebollas Marchite we keep a close eye on everything during these last weeks of heat, making sure we:
- Manage soil moisture, avoiding both excess water and drought, which can affect the bulb.
- Watch out for diseases linked to lingering heat, such as fungi and rot, using appropriate treatments and crop rotation.
- Prepare the land for the next season by fertilising, clearing it and letting the soil “breathe”, so that it once again yields produce as good as the onions we’re enjoying today.
As summer fades on the horizon, we at Cebollas Marchite remain attentive, with the soil beneath our hands, knowing that every onion we grow today is what will delight your palate tomorrow. Time moves on, but our produce stands firm.
